Summer Mission Intern Program

The mission of the Summer Mission Intern Program is to provide hand-on opportunities for young adults to make a difference in the world by serving out of a deep level of their Christian faith, particularly with children and youth in under-served communities.

Summer Mission interns serve in Christian community day camps and outreach ministries within The Florida United Methodist Church, including CROS Ministries and Grace Place for Children and Families.

The duration of the internship is 8-10 weeks. A stipend of approximately $225 per week is provided, but pay varies slightly depending on the placement location. Young adults ages 19 (by 8/31/18) - 30, who are eager to be part of God's transformative work in local communities are encouraged to apply. Submit completed application, recommendation letter, and resume via email to Jessica Weseman at jweseman@flumc.org, by May 1, 2018. For more information about the Summer Mission Intern Program or questions regarding the application, please contact Jessica Weseman at the e-mail address listed above.

On-site training is provided to interns by the outreach ministries. Supervision and mentoring is provided by the Conference and outreach ministry staff throughout the summer.
