Beef Tips from a Navy Cook

Beef Tips from a Navy Cook

I call these Cecil's beef tips. Cecil Griffin was a favorite neighbor of ours when I was very young. He was a retired Navy cook, served in WWII. His wife, Olive, brought over some of this one day, and I told Mom to get a bunch of Cecil's recipes. He made his in a covered casserole, baking it in the oven at 300 for 2 to 2 1/2 hours (the house smelled great). Mom changed it to be crock pot friendly. Serve over rice.

Mix all except stew meat in a crock pot. Add the stew meat and combine. Add liquid, if needed, to cover the beef. Cook on low for 8 hours. Cecil recommended serving with Chicago hard rolls. Mom served with broccoli.
