Yum Yum Boiled Cake from World War 1
2 cups sugar (white and brown mixed)
2 cups hot water
2 tablespoons shortening
1 lb. muscat raisins- seeded or substitute regular raisins
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
Mix first 8 ingredients in a pan. Bring to boil, and boil 5 minutes while stirring.
When thoroughly cooked, add flour and baking soda.
Pour into bundt pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
