Tuna Cacciatore and Spaghetti

Simple to make, and only 312 calories per serving.

Tuna Cacciatore and Spaghetti


2 cups canned Italian tomatoes
1 cup chopped onions
1 green pepper, seeded and diced
1 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. oregano or Italian seasoning
1/4 cup dry white wine
2- 7 ounce cans water packed tuna
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1/2 teaspoon arrowroot or cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
4 cups tender-cooked spaghetti

Break up tomatoes with a fork in a heavy saucepan. Add onions, green pepper, garlic salt, Italian seasoning and wine.  Cover and simmer over a
very low heat 45 minutes.   Uncover and add flaked tuna and mushroom slices. Cook uncovered until most of the liquid has evaporated.
Combine arrowroot and cold water and stir into simmering sauce until thick to keep sauce from separating.  Stir in parsley and serve over hot cooked
spaghetti.  Serves four, 312 calories each.
