Mrs. Dye's Bread Pudding

Mrs. Dye's Bread Pudding

Bread pudding with lemon sauce.

Mrs. Dye's Bread Pudding
Pre-heat Oven to 350 degrees 

4 cups milk (scalded)
1 tbsp butter or margarine
5 cups bread cubes
1 cup sugar
4 eggs, beaten
1 cup raisins
Salt to taste
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon

Stir all ingredients together until well mixed.
Pour into greased 9x13 baking dish placed in a pan of water.
Bake 45-50 minutes.

Lemon Sauce
1 tbsp    cornstarch
1/2 cup  sugar
1 cup     hot water
dash      salt
1 tsp      grated lemon peel
3 tbsp    lemon juice
2 tbsp    melted butter or margarine

Mix all ingredients together.
Spread evenly over Baked Bread Pudding.

Serve warm.
