Southern Apple Dumpling


These are unbelieveably good and quick to make.


Southern Apple Dumpling
Serves 4 - 6
Total Time: 1 hour

Ingredients:
2 large apples, peeled and cored or 3 small apples
2 10 oz cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 cup butter
1 ½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 liter bottle of Mountain DewR soda
1 tablespoon butter to grease dish

Directions: 
Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with butter.
Cut apples into 8-12 wedges and set aside. Separate the crescent roll dough into triangles. Roll each apple wedge in crescent dough starting at the small end using triangles until the apple is covered. Pinch to seal and place in baking dish. Melt butter in a small saucepan and stir in sugar and cinnamon, mixing well until sugar dissolves. Pour over apple dumplings. Pour enough Mountain Dew over apples to brings ¾ of the way up the sides of the apples (do not cover the apples with the soda). Bake 35-45 minutes until golden brown.
