Apple Krinkle

A family favorite dessert handed down through four generations. Best served still slightly warm from the oven with whipped cream or ice cream.
Apple Krinkle
Ingredients:
1 3 lb. bag of Jonathan apples (Granny Smith are also good)
1 Tablespoon of flour
1/2 cup of sugar
Mix peeled, sliced apples with flour and sugar and press into 9 x13 inch baking dish.
3/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 1/2 cup oatmeal
3/4 cup flour sifted with:
3/4 teaspoon each of baking powder and baking soda
Directions:
Using mixer, cream butter and sugar.
Add oatmeal and flour mixture until crumbly.
Press evenly on top of apples.
Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
