Cherry Lemon Squares

We enjoy cherries in a dessert.

Cherry Lemon Squares


1-1/2 c flour
1/2 c butter
1/4 c sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder
2 T flour
3 T lemon juice
1 can red tart cherry pie filling
Cool Whip

In a small bowl, combine 1-1/2c flour, 1/4c sugar and butter.  Mix on low speed untilblended. Put into reased 9 inch pan.  Bake 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.  Meanwhile, beat together eggs, 3/4c sugar, 2T flour, baking powder and lemon juice.  Pour cover partialy baked crust.  Reutrn to oven for another 15-20 minutes.  Cool in refrigerator for about 1 hour. Spoon cherry pie filling over crust.  Cut into squares.  Serve with Cool Whip.
