Creamed Onions

Just a wonderful holiday side dish that works any time you want a special side.

Creamed Onions


24 small onions, peeled
2 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup milk
1/4 c. parsley

In a large saucepan, cook onions in boiling salted water until tender. Drain and set aside. In the same pan, melt butter, blend in flour and salt until smooth. Add milk, cool and stir over medium heat until thick. Cook and stir about 1 minute, Stir in parsley. Add onions. Simmer until onions are heated through. Pour into a greased baking dish. Bake 350 degrees or 30-40 minutes.
