This starts with an angel food cake. If you start with a ready made cake, it makes for a fast dessert.
2 envelopes plain gelatin
4 tablespoons cold water
1 cup boiling water
Juice of 1 lemon
1 #2 size can crushed pineapple
1 cup sugar
1 large angel food cake
3 packages dream whip
1 can shredded coconut
Soften gelatin in cold water, add boiling water and stir until dissolved.cool, add lemon juice, pineapple, sugar. Chill. Prepare 2 Dreamwhip packages and add to gelatin mixture. Line mixing bowl with waxed paper. Break cake into small pieces, arrange alternate layers of cake pieces and gelatin mixture. Chill overnight or at least 6 hours. Unmold on cake plate, prepare remaining package of Dreamwhip, spread over cake, sprinkle with coconut.
