Mud Flat Cake

This is my husband's favorite dessert.

Mud Flat Cake


1 c flour
1/2 c chopped pecans
1 T sugar
1/4 pound butter, softened
Mix all ingredients together in small bowl and spread evenly in a 9x13 inch pan. Bake 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Cool

1  8 oz package cream cheese
1 c confectioner's sugar
2/3  of a 9 oz carton whipped topping, thawed
Mix together filling ingredients, fold in topping.  Spread over cooled crust.

1  5-1/2 oz package instant chocolate pudding
3 c cold milk
Mix pudding and milk; let stand 5 minutes or until set. Spread this mixture over the filling. Top entire pie with remaining 1/3 of the thawed whipped topping. Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired. Refrigerate.
