Pepperoni Calzones

Using the frozen bread makes these easy.

Pepperoni Calzones

1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
1 can (4 oz) mushroom stems/pieces, drained
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1 clove garlic, crushed
8 ounces thinly sliced pepperoni
1 small green bell pepper, chopped
1/4 c onion, chopped small
1 c shredded mozzarella cheese
1 egg, beaten

Thaw frozen bread dough according to directions. Mix tomato sauce, mushrooms, basil, oregano and garlic. Divide bread dough into 6 equal parts. Roll each part into a 7-inch circle. Spread tomato sauce mixture over half of each circle to within 1-inch of edge. Top with pepperoni, green pepper, onion and cheese. Carefully fold dough over filling; pinch edges to seal securely.

Place on cookie sheet. Let rest 15 minutes. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Brush calzones with egg. Bake about 25 minutes or until golden brown. These can be frozen.
