Creamy Bread Pudding

Creamy Bread Pudding


This really does turn out creamy if you put the 9x12 dish in another dish (15 inches long) and put in cold water (up about 1 inch or so).


Creamy Bread Pudding

2 slices bread
1/2 c raisins
2 T butter (spread on toast)
4 eggs
1/2 c sugar
4 c evaporated milk 
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp nutmeg

Toast the bread lightly and spread butter over slices. Cube the bread and spread it evenly over the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle with raisins. Beat eggs, add sugar and milk, vanilla and nutmeg. Blend well and pour over cubed bread. Set dish in pan of cold water (approx. 1 inch or so high).  Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes to 35 or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean.
