Lake Junaluska offers summer worship series

Lake Junaluska, NC –Lake Junaluska has invited distinguished spiritual leaders to speak this summer during its annual Summer Worship Series.
“The Summer Worship Series is one of the ways Lake Junaluska lives out its mission,” said Rev. Susan Giles, the dean of Memorial Chapel at Lake Junaluska. “We invite those visiting our beautiful mountain community as well as those who make the area their permanent home to attend.”
Each Sunday morning worship service features guest speakers and inspirational music led by the Lake Junaluska Singers. The services kick off this Sunday, June 26, and go through August 7. They take place at 10:45 a.m. in historic Stuart Auditorium.

The first Sunday features Rev. Kevin Wright, a United Methodist pastor serving at Riverside Church in New York City. Other speakers include internationally known author and evangelist Tony Campolo, and Bishop of the WNC Conference of the United Methodist Church Larry Goodpaster.
Sunday School is held prior to each service in the Susan Todd Lounge of the Harrell Center at 9:30 a.m. Each Sunday evening at 6 p.m. a service of Holy Communion will take place in Memorial Chapel.

On Monday nights during the summer, Lake Junaluska is offering Taize services of prayer and song. A Taize service is a quiet service that offers a time to step away from the clutter and the noise of our busy world and spend time in contemplation and praise to God through music, prayer, reading scripture and silence. The Taize services will start on Monday, June 27 and go through Monday, August 8 at 8 p.m. each night.
Childcare is offered at the 10:45 a.m. service for children 6 months and older at the Wilson Children’s Complex, 21 Shackford Hall Road.
