Bishop Carter to lead Holy Land trip in Feb. 2020

March 21, 2019
I would like to extend an invitation to you to join me, our recent ordinands and many of our Florida Conference church members on a Holy Land pilgrimage planned for this coming February.
This is my sixth trip to the Holy Land, and each time I have walked those steps described in the Bible it has been life transforming. On my first journey to Israel, I was overwhelmed by the living presence of Jesus in the towns and villages where He preached, taught and healed. As His disciples, we will bring back to our friends and congregations a new appreciation and understanding of the stories about the children of God and renewed excitement about our own faith journeys.
We will walk the shores of the Sea of Galilee, study the scriptures in the synagogue in Capernaum, pray on the Mount of Beatitudes and renew our baptisms at the Jordan River. We will then make our way to Bethlehem and conclude our time together in Jerusalem, where we will enter the Old City and follow the way of the cross. Together, we will rediscover the reality of the garden, the cross, the empty tomb and the risen Lord.
Our ten-day fellowship with each other will be February 4 through 13, 2020. For a detailed description of our itinerary and registration, please visit our website www.flumc.org and click on the quick link, “Bishop’s Holy Land Trip.”
I look forward to sharing the experience of travel, study, worship and fellowship with you on this wonderful, life-transforming pilgrimage in February!
The Peace of the Lord,
Bishop Kenneth H. Carter, Jr.
