Event offers personal conversations with the Carters
Would you like the opportunity to have personal conversations with Bishop Ken and Pam Carter – to really get to know them?
“We’ve been able to experience his leadership at annual conferences where he has inspired us with his ability to make scripture come alive in personal ways,” Jim Cook, chairperson of the Florida Conference Spiritual Formation Committee, said of Ken Carter, who became Florida area bishop in September 2012.
“And, his wife, Pam, has allowed us to share her vision of what it means for the church to be in mission in uniquely effective ways: Remember the jewelry sale at Annual Conference dedicated to missions?”
Recognizing the Carters’ invitational leadership style, Cook organized the event, in part, because “they are the kind of couple who makes us want to know them more.” Cook said that he hopes the conversations may reveal “new insight into our own possibilities” for ministry.
“How did he come to write a book called ‘Pray for Me,’ and what makes her have such a personal investment in Haitian ministry? These are just two questions to be answered in the two days at the LEC,” Cook said. “Getting to know Bishop Carter and Pam through personal conversations – even around a campfire – promises to be an opportunity not to be missed.”
The LEC is located on the shoreline of Lake Griffin at 4991 Picciola Road, Fruitland Park. Click here to make your reservations.
