The General Conference delegation slates 'listening session' Oct. 20
Way Forward
October 03, 2018
Dear Lay and Clergy of the Florida Conference:
With the Special Session of the General Conference approaching in February 2019, your General Conference delegation from Florida wants to hear from you. We have designed a special day of listening on Saturday, October 20, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at First UMC in Lakeland, Florida.
The day will be an opportunity for the delegates to listen to you. There will be time spent around tables with delegates listening to each person who wants to share. There will also be an opportunity for those who would like to address the entire delegation to sign up for a five-minute time to speak. The delegation will answer any questions you might have, and we will share in a time of prayer together. We do hope you will join us for this important time of conversation. We are grateful that we will be joined by the conveners of our Conference Table, Bishop Carter and our lay leader, Paulette Monroe, and other conference leaders.
To register and sign up to speak click here. Please plan to bring a donation for lunch or donate using the registration link.
To see a list of members of the delegation click here. If you would like to share something with the delegation and cannot join us on October 20, email fldelegation@flumc.org, and your email will be sent to the all the members of the delegation.
Finally, we hope each of you will consider joining the delegation in Praying Our Way Forward, which includes time of daily prayer, email reminders and weekly fasting. For more information click here.
Blessings,
Molly McEntire
