My Pastors: An Appreciation
May 27, 2011
As a member of Palma Ceia United Methodist Church, I want to say how proud I am of my two ministers, the Rev. Dr. Kevin James and the Rev. Larry Cook.
My father had a stroke and was in the hospital for a tough stay, and both of these fine ministers were there with my family the whole time. Soon after, during Thanksgiving, my dad had a second stroke and these ministers were the greatest thing in the world to my family, praying with my family and really getting us through the tough times. I don't know what I would do without them.
Later I had two hip surgeries and some long therapy and after coming coming home I slipped on the kitchen floor and broke my femur and was waiting in the emergency room, facing some rather harsh surgery at Tampa General Hospital. Both of my ministers came in and prayed for me, and all of the worries that I was facing left me. The surgery went fine, and I got a much better situation for therapy this time around. But when I was facing my surgery, I felt an amazing peace thanks to the prayer from my two ministers.
