Fred Bonsteel, a retired elder in the Florida Conference, died Nov. 4. Bonsteel became an elder in full connection in the Memphis Conference in 1979 and transferred to the Florida Conference in 1988. He retired in 2005. Bonsteel served as chaplain at Epworth Village in Miami and pastor at Carol City United Methodist Church; Opa Locka United Methodist Church; Faith United Methodist Church, Orlando; and Community United Methodist Church, Holiday. ### The Rev. C. Martin Riley, a retired supply pastor, died Nov. 16 in Tennessee. He served Old Miakka and Myakka City United Methodist churches before retiring in 2002. Riley was serving a two-point charge in the Tennessee Conference when he died. ### Candido Perez The Rev. Candido Perez, a retired elder in the Florida Conference, died Nov. 27 in Puerto Rico. Perez was a full-time local pastor in Cuba in 1956 and served several churches there and in Puerto Rico. He became an elder in the Puerto Rico Conference in 1976 before transferring into the Florida Conference in 1980. He retired in 1999. Perez served Hardee County Spanish Mission and Leisure City, Peace Hispanic, Allapattah and Riverside Hispanic United Methodist churches in Miami. ### Manuel Salabarria The Rev. Manuel F. Salabarria, a retired probationary member of the Florida Conference, died Dec. 12. Salabarria served a church in Cuba before moving to Florida in 1966. He retired in 2008. In Florida, Salabarria served El Salvador Methodist Church, Key West, and Coral Way United Methodist Church, Miami. ### E. Clayton Calhoun Jr. The Rev. E. Clayton Calhoun Jr., a retired elder in the Florida Conference, died Dec. 31. Calhoun was a full-time local pastor in the Florida Conference in 1934. He transferred to the Western North Carolina Conference in 1936 and then back to Florida in 1937. He became an elder in full connection in 1940. He served as a missionary to China in 1940 and 1946. He retired in 1976. In the Florida Conference, Calhoun served Pine Castle Methodist Church and Conway Methodist Church, Orlando; Hosford Circuit; Murray Hill Methodist Church, Jacksonville; Clermont Methodist Church; Quincy Methodist Church; and Riviera Methodist Church, Miami. Calhoun was also president of Paine College in Augusta, Ga., and served on the General Board of Education and General Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry in Nashville, Tenn. ### Willie D. Limbric The Rev. Willie D. Limbric, a retired, full-time Florida Conference local pastor, died Jan. 1. Limbric became a student local pastor in 1965 and a full-time local pastor in 1976. He retired in 1988.
