UMCMarket combines online shopping and funding ministries

The General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) Office of Corporate Partnership has announced a new program, UMCmarket, which will allow members of The United Methodist Church the opportunity to shop online at some of their favorite places while generating a donation to their local church.
The online shopping community provides a portal to access popular retailers. Members can shop online whenever they want. With each purchase, a percentage of the sale can go to the church the shopper chooses. Membership is completely free, and it takes less than a minute to join.
Signing up is quick and easy -- you develop a profile for yourself, designate your local church or other United Methodist group, and shop online from a list of hundreds of online vendors. Click here to visit the website.
Bobby Lee Smith, manager of Corporate Partnership for GCFA, said, "We are pleased to announce the program to benefit the ministries of local churches and other UM entities. The no-cost, online service will increase monies available for ministry for any local United Methodist church and many other United Methodist organizations. Zebraplace and Foundation Automation (the program's strategic partners) are providing great customer service and follow up when needed. United Methodists can be assured that the service is secure and designed specifically for the ministries of The United Methodist Church."
