LAKELAND – Bishop Ken Carter has announced that Rev. Wee-Li Tan, president of The Florida United Methodist Foundation, has accepted an invitation to join the extended cabinet of the Florida Annual Conference.
“I am delighted that Wee-Li Tan has accepted this invitation,” Carter said. “His leadership has been recognized across the church, through his work in two foundations and on behalf of Africa University.
“I also sense the mutual benefit of strengthening the relations between the Annual Conference and the foundation, for the purpose of strengthening our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. I look forward to a deeper and stronger relationship in the years ahead.”
Tan was president of the United Methodist Foundation of New England for 12 years before coming to Florida in 2010. He said he is grateful for the opportunity to serve.
“The Florida United Methodist Foundation exists to serve our local churches and conference agencies by providing financial services and educational programs that promote faithful stewardship,” Tan said.
“The foundation is committed to working closely with conference leadership in finding collaborative ways to strengthen local church ministries and outreach.”
