General Board of Discipleship provides worship planning calendar The music and worship planning calendar for 2006 is now available from the General Board of Discipleship. It joins the 2004 and 2005 calendars already published. The planning calendars contain the Revised Common Lectionary citations for every Sunday and major days of the church year, as well as United Methodist observances and special days and holidays from the secular and civil calendars. A total of 3,022 campers have registered for this year’s Florida Conference Summer Camp sessions, but slots are still open for several camp weeks.
Space is also available in the specialty camps, such as the Creative Spirit weeks and the Appalachian Trail Hike, and at the South Florida Camp, located on the Caloosahatchee River near Alva, July 5-10.
The cost for a week of camp is $330. The summer camp ministry awarded 583 campers with scholarships for a total or $64,525.
The General Board of Global Ministries and United Methodist Reporter Communications have joined forces to produce an eight-page publication titled “Many Faces of Mission.” It provides information and stories that show the wide range of mission opportunities available in the United Methodist Church.
