“HANGING OF THE HANDS” , Annual Children's Week March 24 – 29, 2019 including Florida Advocacy Days March 24 – 26, 2019
Tens of thousands of pieces of “hand art” will be hung throughout the Capitol Rotunda Sunday, March 24 – Friday, March 29, 2019, creating an amazing display of children’s art. “Hand art” is decorated by children and their teachers and collected at child care centers and schools across the state. The hands hang in the Capitol Rotunda as a reminder to legislators and advocates that we must take care of our most precious commodity – our children.
Schools, child care centers, and individuals from across the state have been submitting hands to hang at the Capitol for many years, and we encourage everyone to participate in this time-honored tradition. Several of our United Methodist Church preschools have participated in the past. The more hands the better!
All artwork must be postmarked by March 10, 2019. Please include your county on the box used for mailing and send to:
The Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region, 2639 N. Monroe Street, Building C, Tallahassee, FL 32303
