Team Grace Cycling rides for those impacted by MS
Lifestyle Missions and Outreach
Team Grace Cycling, sponsored by Grace Community United Methodist Church in Lithia, once again participated in the Bike MS Citrus Tour on May 5–6.
Over two days, Team Grace rode with approximately 1,000 other cyclists and volunteers between Fantasy of Flight in Polk City and the Omni at Champions Gate in Orlando, then back to Fantasy of Flight, covering more than 30 miles round trip.

Their primary reason was to increase awareness and raise funds to support cutting-edge research, programs and services for everyone impacted by multiple sclerosis. The venture came with great side benefits though. They rode through the citrus groves of Old Florida, along beautiful lakes and through ancient forests.
Team Grace is a group of friends, neighbors and families from all over the central Florida area. They include casual bike riders, cycling enthusiasts, non-riding volunteers, triathletes and people with MS who use their bikes for fitness, fun and fundraising.
This year, the team raised more than $45,000.
Stephen Barone, the team captain, has been riding in Bike MS events for more than 15 years.
“We ride most weekends in Lithia and sometimes we travel to ride at the many great cycling locations in the Tampa area,” he said. “We have a great group who enjoys spending time together. Every person can make a difference; every connection matters.”
Since the group formed last winter, riders have participated in multiple events, including the Bike MS Breakaway to Key Largo between Miami and Key Largo, the American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure and Plant City YMCA’s Dean’s Ride.
There is an open invitation for those interested in helping make a difference to join with Team Grace.
