Using the gifts and resources of our church community, Killearn UMC's iServe mission helps our neighbors and church members who need assistance with projects in and around their homes on several Saturdays each month. iServe also partners with Guardian ad Litem to provide beds for children through our Sweet Dreams program and with Ability 1st to build wheelchair ramps for disabled or low-income individuals who need them.
On April 23, Killearn UMC's men's ministry recruited 21 men and boys to assist with iServe projects. Teams were sent out to several locations in Leon and Gadsden Counties completing carpentry, painting, pressure washing, yard work and the installation of several smoke detectors. Later that evening, the men hosted youth from the Shadetree group, our missional ministry in Gadsden County, for fun and fellowship at the FSU - Notre Dame baseball game.
Hopefully, it was a day where we were able to follow the lead of the Florida United Methodist Men (UMM): "Jesus taught his disciples practices of spiritual growth and leadership. As Disciples of Christ, we are to share with others as they look to us to be models and guides."
