SEBRING – In this smallish community smack-dab in the center of South Florida, there’s a flurry of Methodists in a hurry to better the environs around their church and beyond.
From partnering with the local middle school to donating vacant land next door for a Habitat for Humanity project, First UMC, Sebring, is working to make disciples for the transformation of the world in the congregation’s own backyard. Churchgoers also traveled to the Bahamas to help orphans and disadvantaged residents at the Methodist mission on Current Island.
News media took notice. Click here to read a report from the Sebring News-Sun. Check out the church Facebook page for more photos.
