Teens from First UMC, LaPorte, Ind., paint a house as part of a mission trip
Students on a mission team with First UMC, LaPorte, paint the home of someone who otherwise couldn't afford it, one of several activities designed to help the Pahokee community.
In the span of a week, a group of teens and adults from Indiana was able to change lives in the small South Florida town of Pahokee during spring break.

It was another mission team-up for First UMC, Pahokee, this time with a team from First UMC of LaPorte, Indiana. The Pahokee congregation often transforms its campus buildings into temporary dormitories to accommodate mission teams from inside Florida and out.

Mission activities for First UMC, LaPorte, included painting houses for people in need, volunteering at the local food pantry, visiting seniors at an adult day care facility and working with local children after school.
