This class will equip finance teams to be good stewards of the local church’s financial resources. It will include payroll, accounting, and finance issues. We will also review accounting controls, apportionment calculations and financial best practices.

Calling all LCRs and church leaders! Are you new in your LCR role? Looking to add a little spice to your acumen? This session is for you! It is an engaging session in which you will hear about all the resources the Children’s Home has to equip you in spreading the message about their mission and current programming. We will make sure you leave with the LCR Handbook and packet as your “go to guide.” You will be provided with detailed information about the Children’s Home so you will feel empowered to serve as an effective liaison. You will learn about moving stories to convey the message. You will also have the opportunity to share your own success stories of engagement at individual churches to help others. This session is about creating and augmenting the longstanding partnership between the Children’s Home and the local United Methodist Churches.

Child Youth Protection Training (CYPP) - Train the Trainer

March 2 & 4, 2023
Join us for Train the Trainer. You will learn tools to go back to your local church and lead the CYPP Training. This session will review the Conference's comprehensive strategy for providing a safe, nurturing environment for our children and youth. The changes to the policy will be covered in this session. All churches must update their church policy to reflect these changes and submit a signed adoption agreement by April 30 stating that those working with children and youth have been CYPP trained.
The conference is not giving out participation certificates as we have no way of knowing if someone was actively listening to the presentation.
Nominations/Lay Leadership Development Training

This training will focus on the work of developing a deeper pool of leaders within our churches that reflects the rich diversity and array of spiritual gifts among us. It will include best practices on how to do the work of lay leadership development year-round, how to identify challenges to this work within the context of your local church and how to invite, equip and encourage leaders.

This session will help equip Laity who are attending Annual Conference with updates and information needed to prepare for AC 2023. Led by Co-Lay Leaders Derrick Scott and Alice Williams, the session will review the process of Annual Conference, review the resolutions that will be introduced, and updates on relevant activity taking place in the FLUMC.
