June 2017 District Newsletter

Message from the District Superintendent

The word Metric is defined as something set up as an example against which others of the same type are compared. We know what you might be thinking, they just said the word metric which means that there are going to be even more things that someone at the church needs to track.

You would be correct in that line of thinking; however, this month's message from the district superintendent will explain more of what needs to be tracked beginning in July. But the important thing is not just what needs to be tracked, but why it needs to be tracked. This is an important message for you to read.

Please note that we will be sharing this message multiple times over the coming weeks. So please don't be surprised if you receive this message in your inbox more than once from now to July.

We are at the start of the 2017 Hurricane Season. With a forecast for above average number of storms, the District Office would like to remind all churches to begin their preparations for the season. Pastors please get with your Trustees and Church Disaster Coordinator to create or update your Church Disaster Plan. Trustees should get with your Church Disaster Coordinator to create or update your Church Disaster Plan. Please inform your Pastor of your efforts. If you don't have a plan email our District Disaster Coordinators at to make arrangements to meet with them to begin developing your Church Plan.

District Office FYI

  • Ashleigh is part-time and usually works 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. We want you to be aware of her schedule in case you call or email when she is not in the office. She will respond to your message the next day.

  • Pam will be on vacation and out of the office after 12 p.m. on Thursday, June 1 through and including Monday, June 5. She will respond to all messages on Tuesday, June 6.

  • Annual Conference is coming up and the DS and Senior Assistant will be in Orlando during that time. Please note that they may respond a little slower to messages and will have limited access to their voicemail.

  • There seems to be some confusion with our emails. Our emails are position-based and not person-based. Also, when we send mass emails from our server, they show our emails as That is just a server address and if you try to send us an email through that address, it will bounce. Here are the office email addresses:
