We did it! There have been a lot of changes over the past year - new district office staff, a new district superintendent, new expectations, new metrics. We know change is not always easy but the North East District is full of amazing people, doing amazing things in the name of Jesus, and we are so excited to be part of this ministry.

Vitality Metrics Beginning in July
Are you ready to begin tracking your two new metrics? We need you to talk now about who is going to track first-time guests and how many times the Gospel invitation is made each month. We will be sending reminder emails to the senior pastor, the church administrator (if you have one), the main church email, the church council chair, the SPRC chair and the lay leader. We expect 100% participation.
You will have until the 5th of August to report the figures for July. We have created videos for you to check out and will continue to put out much more information on the importance of these metrics and the other metrics we are using to determine the vitality of our churches.

The DLC Nurse & Learn organization is in need of summer volunteers to help their teachers during the summer months while school is out. They are open all day during the summer for our families and extra help is always needed! Call Mayra Correa @ 904-387-0370 if you would like to volunteer.

We ask that you be mindful of the number of emails that you send to the clergy and churches in an effort that their inbox does not become overloaded with solicitations. We were able to open registration early for the Fall Lay Servant Ministry Training. The training will be held on September 22-23, 2017 @ Keystone UMC in Keystone Heights. You must attend all 10 hours of training to receive certification. In addition, you must register in advance to attend. No walk-ins please. If you need help registering, please contact our district office. Register today!

August 23, 2017 - DCOM Meeting (First-time Certification & BOOM re-submissions). You need to be invited to attend this meeting by the DCOM registrar.
August 29, 2017 – District Ministry Team Meeting (formerly known as District Clergy Meeting, 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. @ Fleming Island UMC – Brown Bag Lunch. All clergy serving a local church full-time are required to attend. Part-time clergy are encouraged to attend if they are able.
October (date TBD) - District Admin Brunch. We are planning a brunch for all church administrators, secretaries, office professionals. More details to come!

November 15, 2017 - Finance/Trustees Training, 6:30-9 p.m. @ Riverdale UMC. This will be a brown-bag meal training. Bring a brown bag meal with you. The District Office will provide drinks and snacks. This training is free but you must register to attend.
