A United Methodist Historic Site is a structure or location specifically related to a significant event, development, or personality of strong historical significance in the Annual Conference.  The decision to designate a Historic Site is made by the Annual Conference upon the recommendation of the Commission on Archives and History.  It is then registered with the General Commission on Archives and History.

Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church, Tampa
Manatee United Methodist Church, Manatee Village Historic Park,  Bradenton
Mary McLeod Bethune Foundation, Bethune-Cookman University, Daytona Beach
Memorial United Methodist Church, Fernandina Beach
Middleburg United Methodist Church, Middleburg

A United Methodist Heritage Landmark is a structure or location specifically related to significant events, developments, or personalities in the overall history of the United Methodist Church or its antecedents; that is, it must have distinctive historic interest and value for the denomination as a whole. Ordinarily, structures or locations that have achieved historic significance within the preceding fifty years are not considered.  Nominations for Heritage Landmark status are made by the annual conference Commission on Archives and History to the General Commission on Archives and History, which makes appropriate recommendations to the General Conference.

The Heritage Landmark in the Florida Conference is the Mary McLeod Bethune Foundation located on the campus of Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach.
