Meet with Dr. Jeffrey Staley, Author of "Gum Moon: A Novel of San Francisco Chinatown" as he tells the story of a White House postcard signed by Teddy Roosevelt. Gum Moon is a coming of age story of a Cantonese American girl who loses everything (family, friends, and home), but through the gift of music ends up singing at the White House in 1908 at the age of thirteen. All funds collected will go directly to the Gum Moon Women's Residence and Family Resource Center started and sponsored by United Methodist Women in San Francisco.
