Stephen Ministry and the Care Committee of First United Methodist Church Orlando are planning a live streaming worship service for anyone who is grieving or dealing with stress and fatigue brought on by COVID-19 and the subsequent crises of calendar year 2020. It is called Hope for Christmas, and it will be conducted on “Facebook Live” on Sunday, December 13, at 6:00 pm. This time of healing and renewal is for those who have suffered loss, loneliness, grief, anger, isolation and illness, as well as for anyone who has felt the general stress and pain brought on by the events of 2020, including those who have suffered unemployment, financial hardship, food and housing insecurity, racial injustice, bigotry, lack of inclusion, and other social ills. The service of music, prayer and scripture will offer resources that can help pull us back from the chaos and uncertainty of our daily lives and find solace in the spiritual and sacred. Hope for Christmas is open to all. If you are unable to join us for our live broadcast, the service will be available afterwards for viewing on YouTube and Facebook. For more information, contact the church office at (407) 849-6080.
