EQUIP Leadership Event

The District Operations Team requires all churches to attend a minimum of two Equip events each year.

 

2019 District Leadership Event

Join the North East District for our 2019 Training Event entitled EQUIP – Reclaiming Our Heritage: Wesleyan Small Group Formation. During this training event on Saturday, February 9, 2019, we will offer three sessions throughout the day. All sessions will be led by The Rev. Dr. Kevin Watson, Assistant Professor of Wesleyan and Methodist Studies. 

You must register in advance to attend. Due to space constraints, we cannot allow walk-in registrations. Cost to attend the event is $10 per person. We have changed our registration platform to allow for group registration. So if your church wants to bring a group, they can all be registered and paid for in one registration. 

SCHEDULE:

8:00 – 9:00 a.m. Fellowship/Check-In
9:00 – 9:30 a.m. Welcome/Opening Worship
9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Session 1 – What is Discipleship? 
10:45 – 11 a.m. Break
11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Session 2 – Classes/Bands: How they work and what is happening now. 1
2:15 – 1:15 p.m. Lunch
1:15 – 2:15 p.m. Session 3 – Practical Issues of Small Group Dynamics: Drifters, Group Life Cycle
2:15 – 2:45 p.m. Final Q&A/Closing

Social media is everywhere these days. Shouldn’t the church be there too? In this course, we will show you the basics of using social media for ministry. You will take an in-depth look at the special features of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. By taking the time to learn best practices for social media, your church will be on the right track to engaging with your members and reaching new people in your community.

Bring your lunch or sneak out to grab a bite and then come back to attend the afternoon session (1-3 p.m.) entitled Church Marketing - How to Effectively Reach Your Community Session. Please register to attend this free training.

This course is designed to help churches implement a strategic marketing plan by exploring the planning process, branding standards and various ways their church can have an impact. Additionally, the Church Marketing Plan Tool (CMPT) is designed to help church leaders identify and fine tune the strategies needed to increase the church’s reach and thrive in the areas that are unique to their community. Join the District and the United Methodist Communications Agency for this FREE Training Session.

  • Identify the importance of a consistent brand
  • Develop a custom plan geared at reaching the people in your community
