The EC District makes every effort to host two LSM training events each year usually in spring and then in the fall. We try to have them in different parts of the District. The spring 2018 weekend was March 16th & 17th. Once the fall class is finalized, the information will be added here.
Lay Servant training weekends require 10 hours of attendance: Friday 5:00pm - 8:30pm and Saturday 8:00am - 4:00pm. Cost includes dinner on Friday and lite breakfast and lunch on Saturday, as well as the course material.
You are strongly encouraged to attend a Basic Lay Servant class before taking an Advanced course. Your pastor must sign off on the application to take the Basic Course. Once you have taken an Advanced Course, you are now a Certified Lay Servant. As a Certified Lay Servant, you need to complete the Annual Report as part of the Annual Fall Charge Conference of your church. Lay Servant certification expires after three years. Please check your most recent certificate, from our District, to see your valid date. If you are approaching this time and cannot get to a class, you can get a ONE TIME credit for attendance at Mission U, Disciple Study. You can attend Lay Servant Classes in any District. Click HERE to see all the classes offered in our Florida conference. If you have not taken a course within three years, you should not complete an Annual Report.
