The Florida Conference will recognize Disability Awareness Sunday on October 24, 2021.
The Disability Ministry Team invites you to celebrate Disability Awareness Sunday this Sunday! While you may already have your worship services planned out, we do hope you will consider, at the very least, addressing this important Sunday during your prayer time. While we have designated October 24th as Disability Awareness Sunday in Florida, you can recognize this special day any Sunday of the year!
Why is there a Disability Awareness Sunday?
It is an opportunity for us to celebrate the inclusion of people affected by disabilities in and around our churches. This includes people living with physical disabilities, cognitive/learning disabilities, and mental illness.
How can you be a part of Disability Awareness Sunday?
- You can check out this link https://umcdmc.org/worship/disability-sunday-order-of-worship/ for help planning this special time of worship.
- You can lift up Disability Ministries and those affected with disabilities in your time of prayer
What if we have something else scheduled on that Sunday?
We understand! You can pick another Sunday that works for your church. All of our resources can be used at any time.
The Disability Ministry Committee is here as a resource and a support for you. We thank you for joining with us as we celebrate Disability Awareness Sunday.
