Conference Table 19: “Young Adults: Reframing the Questions”
The Conference Table on young adults, scheduled for Feb. 16, has been canceled due to low registration numbers. The conference table was to be held in Bradenton. As of Feb. 5, only 28 people had registered for the event, including four Florida Conference Center staff people. At this point conference leaders are assessing the need for a conference table on this topic and whether or not to reschedule the event. E-mails will be sent to those people who have registered, notifying them of the cancellation.
“Young Adults: Reframing the Questions,” will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Harvest United Methodist Church in Bradenton. Originally scheduled for Oct. 20, 2007, the event was postponed to allow for broader participation throughout the conference. Click here for webcast information. (Coming Soon)
“One of the main reasons to have this Conference Table is that this is an issue that we have ‘talked around’ but not necessarily sat down and conversed about,” said Kelly Moore, from the Office of Connectional Ministries in the Florida Conference. “Several people at many levels are interested in this topic, but I think we are having the wrong conversations about it.”
The event includes worship, led by Bishop Timothy Whitaker of the Florida Conference, and ample opportunity for conversation, learning, and sharing of best practices and resources. A charge of $7 will apply if you wish to eat lunch at the church. For more information, contact Kelly Moore at email@example.com, or call 800-282-8011, Ext. 183.
