Job description:

The Director of Worship is responsible for leading the worship team (consisting of both modern worship band members and a choir) in a way that provides the congregation with a meaningful worship experience.

 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about the mission of our growing church, and be able to work collaboratively with the worship team, staff team, and church leadership team. Must be able to lead a worship team in both modern and traditional music selections as a part of a unified worship service. Must be proficient in voice and either piano or guitar. High school or equivalent required.

 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Selecting and leading special music for each Sunday.
  • Lead the worship team as a vocalist and instrumentalist for each Sunday.
  • In consultation with worship team, select a mix of traditional and modern music for each Sunday.
  • Communicate weekly with office staff and worship team about music selections, order music as needed, and effectively lead weekly rehearsals.
  • Recruit more members of the worship team.
  • Prepare the choir to present occasional seasonal works (such as a cantata) in conjunction with the pastor.
  • Attend monthly worship logistics meeting.

 

Work Schedule: The Director of Worship will work between 12-15 hours per week.

 

Working Relationship: The Director of Worship is directly accountable to the Pastor and the Leadership Board of the church.

 

Job Type: Part-time

 

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00per hour, commensurate with experience
