Director of Membership

North Naples Church (NNC) is accepting applications for the position of Director of Membership.  This part-time position provides leadership and oversight of the process of assisting adult newcomers with next steps in moving from visitor or participant to member and helping them grow deeper in their faith and engagement at North Naples Church.  The schedule is 25 hours per week, including Sunday mornings.


  • Responsible for creating an atmosphere that attracts and welcomes visitors. Create programs that provides clear next steps for visitors to participate in the life of the church and to quickly develop a sense of belonging and a desire to engage in the ministries of NNC
  • Develop, implement, and manage a process to track visitor engagement in the steps of the Discipleship Process beginning with the first visit to NNC and continuing for one year
  • Recruit, train, manage and supports the Connection Team. Coordinate staffing of the Connection Desk and Connection Team each Sunday and for special events, in order to greet visitors and help them to make a meaningful first connection
  • Coordinate the First Experience class or similar program once each month, to offer an overview of Methodism, NNC's Discipleship Process, Mission Statement, and overall ministries to prospective members. Host Coffee with the Pastor or similar event for incoming members and introduces them to pastoral staff prior to induction as Members
  • Working collaboratively with Director of Communications and Outreach and other NNC staff, offer initiatives, programs and/or events to engage with the local community at large (outreach) both on and off campus
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience
  • At least 2 years' experience in a marketing or communications role, preferably in a Church or non-profit environment
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting volunteers, managing a team, or leading a group to accomplish goals that have a direct impact on the success of the organization
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and members of the Church community
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills
  • Possess demonstrated listening and communication skills and strong command of the English language
  • Ability to communicate a love of Jesus Christ both to the staff and to the congregation
  • Physically, the position requires sitting, walking, and standing
