The Business Administrator manages the business operations and facilities of the church. This person will work with lay committees to ensure that all facility, HR, and financial needs are operating smoothly for the benefit of the ongoing mission and ministry of the church. 
The ideal candidate will have the ability to solve problems and take initiative, build and coach effective teams, be organized, efficient, and dependable, and have great listening and communication skills. This person will also be adept at managing the maintenance and use of the facility, developing budgets, and following proper HR policies. 
The primary responsibilities include:

  • Oversee maintenance activities, equipment service and acquisition, and schedule of projects in facilities
  • Develop and follow a regular maintenance calendar to ensure optimal functioning of all church equipment
  • Maintain property and vehicle insurance coverage as directed by the Board of Trustees
  • Establish and maintain inventories of church equipment and supplies to ensure continuous and cost effective operations
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors for professional repairs on campus, and volunteers for appropriate skill level repairs
  • Manage human resources related matters for employees, including the maintenance of the employee handbook, development of policies and procedures, and maintenance of job descriptions
  • Manage HR administrative duties to ensure all requirements for hire are completed and up to date
  • Facilitate the completion of all church, district and conference reports 
  • Review, negotiate, and approve all external group facility reservations and fees
  • Manage the church calendar and scheduling of events for all activities of the church and use by outside groups
  • Work with the financial secretary to develop and maintain the budget and proper financial procedures
