Director of Youth and Adult Ministries
Must be spiritually mature in one’s faith. BA preferred in Family/Children’s Ministry or Christian Education degree. Proven ability to know/teach/adhere to United Methodist Church beliefs and doctrines. Must possess proven ability to work effectively with youth, adults, diverse individuals and teams of volunteers. Must have vision and demonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage and implement a youth ministry. Must have vision and demonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage and implement an adult education ministry. Must have excellent written and verbal communication and conflict management skills. Proficient in computer technology and utilization of social media. Experience in discipleship, program coordination, volunteer recruitment and training.
To build young disciples for Christ by developing and implementing a comprehensive approach to ministry (in the areas of group building, worship, discipleship, mission and outreach) while serving as a spiritual leader and role model. To provide primary oversight for the Christian education, spiritual formation, and discipleship for the adults of the congregation of PCUMC. He/she will coordinate a ministry of Christian education with volunteers so that youth and adults are introduced to Jesus Christ and nurtured as disciples to follow Christ and love their neighbors.
- Will be required to undergo background investigation.
- Will be required to undergo “safe sanctuary” training administered by PCUMC.
