Community of Faith United Methodist Church is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to become our new Director of Worship Arts!  Our ideal candidate has a passion for leading worship, and the creativity to integrate all aspects of the worship service to create a deep and meaningful experience. This candidate will be an experienced vocalist and instrumentalist, with an ability to nurture other’s talents. The individual selected will become a member of Community of Faith United Methodist Church and serve as an active participant in the life of the church.

ABOUT COMMUNITY OF FAITH
Community of Faith is a United Methodist Church located in the fast growing Four Corners area of Central Florida, near Orlando.  We are a motley crew who believe faith is a journey, not a destination.  We exist to make disciples of Jesus Christ who Live by Faith, are Known by Love, and become a Voice of Hope to the world.   We worship each week during 3 services, a contemporary service on Saturday nights at 6:30pm and Sunday morning at 10:30am, as well as a traditional service on Sunday morning at 8:30am.  
 
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director of Worship Arts is responsible for the overall design and implementation of all three worship services each week.  All five senses are engaged in the sanctuary during worship and the successful candidate in this role will own all aspects of what people see, hear, and feel in the space.  The specific responsibilities include: 
 
Leading a Worship Band
The Director of Worship Arts will lead and be an active member in our COF Worship Band.  Tasks associated with the band include:

  • Playing instruments and singing in the worship band
  • Selecting and training band members, including vocalists and instrumentalists
  • Choosing contemporary Christian music that aligns with the key messages in the sermon each week
  • Arranging chosen music or utilizing approved music software and multi-tracks to provide an exceptional music experience 
  • Leading a worship band rehearsal each week, providing volunteer band members with the tools and feedback to grow in their roles
  • Leading and performing in both the Saturday night and Sunday morning contemporary services each week
Leading the Traditional Service Music Experience
Tasks associated with the Traditional Service music experience include: 
  • Selecting and training volunteer choir director and instrumentalists, including back-ups
  • Performing the role of choir director and/or instrumentalist, as needed
  • Confirming music selections of choir director and inputting all content into ProPresenter
  • Providing leadership and spiritual guidance to the choir weekly
Audio/Visual Design & Operation
The Director of Worship Arts owns all of the audio and visual equipment in the sanctuary and its operation.  Tasks associated with A/V include: 
  • Maintaining all audio, visual and lighting equipment and software
  • Selecting and training volunteer A/V technicians 
  • Ensuring all presentation materials (including lyrics, sermon notes, special event information, etc.) are prepared and loaded into ProPresenter software prior to each service
Overall Worship Service Design
  • Participate in the worship design team to create visual elements to support the worship messages each week
  • Create the order of service for each weekend’s worship service
  • Provide exceptional show quality in the sanctuary (stage set-up, furniture set-up, cleanliness, etc.)
Overall Church Leadership
  • Attend and participate in monthly Administrative Council meeting
  • Actively engage in all church ministries (Children’s, Youth, Banners, etc.)
  • Provide Worship Arts Leadership for other church activities such as weddings, funerals, learning center events, etc. 
  • Seek out Professional development opportunities
