Kitchen Assistant Manager
 
Title: Kitchen Assistant Manager
Supervisor: Kitchen Manager
Compensation: Full Time, Hourly/35 hrs a week/$12 an hr
 Location:   Lake Deaton Campus, but will help support large events at Summerhill Campus
 
Working Relationships:  The Kitchen Assistant Manager reports directly to the Kitchen Manager and will support the kitchen ministry at both campuses.  They will work cooperatively with Staff and and laity as needed. 
General Job Description: The Kitchen Assistant Manager assists in daily operation of Kitchen and Food Service area as needed for both/either campus as needed. They must be flexible and able to manage multiple tasks in a professional and effective manner.
 
Qualifications:
·         Commitment to and readiness to share in fulfilling the vision and mission of NCUMC
·         Consistently interact with Congregants and public with warmth and hospitality
·         Able and willing to work with a servant attitude in a cooperative, team spirit
·         Ability to maintain confidentiality
·         Must be able to push, bend and lift up to 50 pounds
·         Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and a vehicle that can be used when occasionally transporting supplies and other items needed for the kitchen
·         (mileage reimbursed at current IRS approved rate)
·         Must be a certified food handler
·         Previous food service / culinary experience required
 
Primary Duties:
·         Assist in daily operation of Kitchen and Food Service area as needed for both / either campus as needs dictate.
·         Supervise assigned volunteers in their performance of food production and service duties and lead in the actual cooking of meals for ministry events and others as requested through NCUMC
·         Receive all deliveries, date and properly store all products received adhering to good rotation and storage practices
·         Contribute menu planning suggestions and service ideas. 
·         Assure the kitchen facility, storage areas and all equipment are maintained clean, sanitary and in good working order.  Contribute ideas pertinent to replacing worn small wares and equipment.
·         Responsible for cost effective production decisions, taking care to wisely manage over-production or other waste and costs.
·         Other as assigned by supervisor
