Arena Database Administrator

North Naples Church is accepting applications for a Database Administrator.  Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, this position is the subject matter expert for the Arena database, specifically as it relates to organizing and tracking data effectively in support of leadership decision-making and ministries. This position will also provide general day-to-day IT support to end users including but not limited to hardware, software, email, and system support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Deliver error-free reporting enabling decision makers to make informed decisions to effectively minister to congregants and the community
  2. Optimize use of Arena database structure and reporting capabilities to meet organizational needs, championing the accuracy and integrity of the data
  3. Design and build upon standard reporting framework allowing non-technical users to retrieve the information required to make effective decisions
  4. Partner with ministry and departmental leaders to define and report on structures that most closely approximate our actual structures and realities, implement them, and train users to use these structures
  5. Develop processes that provide maximum system support for ministries
  6. Provide Arena database administration, training, and support to staff and volunteers to achieve ministry goals
  7. Monitor and perform regular maintenance to ensure information is secure, current, and accurate
  8. Document and maintain NNC-specific Arena training materials for staff and volunteers
  9. Liaison with Arena technical support to execute system upgrade requests, customized reporting, and troubleshooting/error resolution
  10. Answer questions and resolve computer problems for employees in person, or via telephone and electronically as determined by the Director of Information Technology
  11. Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology related discipline or 2 years' experience in a related area
  • At least 2 years' Arena database administrator or SQL experience, preferably in a Church environment
  • Clear understanding of relational database concepts and constructs
  • Ability to effectively analyze data and problem solve by identifying the underlying principles
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff to understand their data requirements
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills
  • Basic understanding of technology hardware, including desktop computers, laptops, and printers
  • Working knowledge of Google applications
  • Must protect confidential personal and organizational information at all times
  • Possess demonstrated listening and communication skills and strong command of the English language
  • Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilities
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations in a professional manner
  • Ability to communicate a love of Jesus Christ both to the staff and to the congregation
  • Physically, the position requires sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and ability to lift up to 25 lbs. without assistance.
