The General Council on Finance and Administration of The United Methodist Church has announced that Kelly L. Smith of the St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Orlando is certified as a United Methodist Church Administrator.
For certification, an administrator must complete an intensive four-week course work program and complete a project within their ministry setting prior to their application for certification. Once certified, they must complete 4.0 CEUs (40 hours) every four years to retain certification and affiliate with other church administrators through participation in annual and/or monthly meetings of organizations such as the United Methodist Community of Practice of the National Association of Church Business Administration (NACBA), the Southeastern Jurisdiction of the United Methodist Association of Church Business Administrators (SEJ UMACBA), the South Central Jurisdiction of Church Administrators of Large Churches, and NACBA chapters.
"We are extremely proud of our certified administrators and hope you are too," said Alan Morrison, GCFA's certifying officer. Kelly and all our adminsitrators are an excellent resource to their local churches, districts, and Annual Conferences, he added.
