TALLAHASSEE -- Rev. Bob Gibbs, a third-generation district superintendent and former pastor of churches around the state, recently discussed his passion for children's programs, including the Madison Youth Ranch extension of the Florida United Methodist Children's Home, with the Tallahassee Democrat.
He told Democrat staff writer Elizabeth M. Mack: "I just thoroughly enjoy the job I’m doing. I do get to travel around and visit at the different churches and meet people. But I’m learning more that, in our denomination, [my role] is more of a vision-casting type of role — giving initiative to certain areas about where they feel God is leading them in the community to do ministry.”
