Ms. Kristen E. Vincent, author of the book Beads of Healing: Prayer, Trauma, and Spiritual Wholeness, will lead a workshop from 1:00 – 5:00 PM on Saturday, March 10th, at Christ Episcopal Church, SR 24 & 5th St., Cedar Key, FL.
Ms. Vincent is a survivor of childhood trauma and will share her own story of spiritual and emotional healing. She is an experienced workshop leader, a member of the United Methodist Church, and a graduate of Duke Divinity School. Ms. Vincent leads workshops on using Protestant Prayer Beads to assist with healing and spiritual growth. She has worked with people suffering from pain and trauma due to many causes, including victims of abuse and soldiers with PTSD. She currently lives in Atlanta, GA.

The Local Church Representative (LCR) plays a pivotal role in connecting the Children's Home with the local church. This spring, we will be holding a series of LCR workshops in select districts. LCRs are invited to attend any of the workshops, whether or not they are held in your particular district. The workshops will include an overview of the ministry of the Children’s Home, as well as an overview of the role of the LCR. There will be an opportunity to learn about the various resources we have available to support our Representatives. We will cover the 2018 Day on Campus festivities, as well as the opportunities for connection that the event brings. Finally, there will be time to share questions, ideas, and resources with other LCRs.

Killearn United Methodist Church is seeking a part-time Director of Traditional Worship. This position is responsible for directing our choir and orchestra, leading the Sunday traditional worship service, and collaborating weekly with the Worship Planning Team to design the traditional worship service and special worship services throughout the year. The ideal candidate must have a love for Jesus Christ, music and people. They must also demonstrate strong music competency, both vocal and instrumental, have experience in the design, development and delivery of a variety of musical programs, and proven Christian leadership skills. Strong organizational and planning skills, excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills and experience with traditional worship are required. With help from volunteers, ensure rooms and equipment are properly used and supervised during activities and ensure spaces cleaned up/straightened up and trash properly removed by end of activities
Coordinate all ministry-related purchases with pastor
Provide own transportation
Provide periodic, clearly written, informative articles and announcements for bulletin
Ensure compliance with Florida Conference UMC’s Child Protection Policy and other applicable requirements
Salary: Net $100.00 per week/paid bi-weekly
Total Hours Weekly: Two hours on Sunday, 10:30-12:30, plus preparation during week
