English Tea Scones


Bake them up for a special weekend morning.


English Tea Scones

Ingredients:

1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup sour cream (or yogurt)
2 teaspoons butter or margarine, softened
1/4 cup raisins or currants

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Grease a pie plate

Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.  In a separate bowl, beat egg, then mix in sour cream.  Stir in butter and raisins. Add to the dry ingredients, stirring until just blended (do not over mix).  Turn dough into prepared pie plate, scoring top of dough into triangular pieces.  Bake 15-20 minutes until golden on top.
