Shrimp Jambalaya

This serves 6-8 people.

Shrimp Jambalaya


1/4 c chopped onion
1/4 c chopped green pepper
1/4 c butter, melted
3 T flour
2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
pepper to taste
1/8 tsp red pepper
1/4 c Worcestershire sauce
1 T vinegar
2 c chopped fresh tomatoes
1 (10 oz) package frozen sliced okra (small pieces)
1-1/2 pounds uncooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 c hot cooked rice

Sauce onion and green pepper in butter until tender.  Combine flour and seasonings; blend into onion mixture.  Sir in worcestershire sauce and vinegar until smooth. Add tomatoes and okra, stirring constantly until thickened.  Add shrimp and simmer uncovered for 15 minutes or so.  Stir in rice. Serves 6-8
