LUCILLE O’NEAL AND GRACE NELSON TO SHARE INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE WITH HUNDREDS OF WOMEN AT MELBOURNE CHURCH
First Church Melbourne will host the Inspire Women’s Conference, featuring speakers Dr. Lucille O’Neal and Grace Nelson, on September 29 and 30 in Melbourne, FL. The conference will draw hundreds of women from diverse backgrounds for a weekend of hope, encouragement, and fun as they celebrate seeing the light and purpose in all of life’s situations.
O’Neal, a noted speaker and author of “Walk Like You Have Somewhere To Go” is mother to four children, including NBA basketball star, Shaquille O’Neal. O’Neal uses her triumphant life story as a foundation for encouraging and empowering others to success and self-worth in their own lives. Woven throughout O’Neal’s powerful narrative is her resounding message, “It’s never too late for a new beginning!”
Nelson is the wife of Bill Nelson, the senior United States Senator from Florida. A gifted speaker and leader, Grace Nelson shares a message of hope and the importance of living life in harmony and without being offended by others, despite our differences.
Inspire Women’s Conference will also feature encouraging talks from Rev. Dionne Hammond, co-pastor at First Church Melbourne, and worship led by Rev. Dawn Salmons. A variety of workshops and activities are part of the weekend, which have been designed to reach a variety of interests, including both casual and deeply spiritual experiences.
“Through music, laughter, tears and Scripture, we want each woman to be inspired and renewed to proactively live in the Light of Jesus,” said Hammond. This year’s theme is “Living the Light” and focuses on equipping women for traversing the inevitable difficulties encountered throughout life. Sharing stories and cultivating community among participants is an important part of this conference. Hammond believes that the conference will provide an opportunity for, “growing and deepening relationships with other women and our loving Father.” “We hope that women take away from this conference that Jesus Christ loves them and will light their way through life, no matter the situation,” said Debora Gantt, a lead conference organizer.
The conference will also serve as a fundraiser for missions and charitable projects supported by First Church Melbourne, who partners with a number of organizations in their community, such as University Park Elementary School, Brevard Rescue Mission, and South Brevard Sharing Center.
